The Azcue VRX series Pump operates with the use of impeller vanes which create a vortex or turbulence enabling solids to pass through the pump easily such as fish or other solid objects that do not require processing.

The open impeller is axially displaced from the pump suction, enabling a free solids passage. Therefore the vortex pumps are able to handle liquids with a high solid content which can be almost the size of discharge diameter on the pump.

Simple construction, non-clogging and with components exposed to low wear.

3 Construction Options:

Vertical Semi Submersed:

The suction port is submersed in the fluid, and the pump is variable in height. The electric motor is mounted on top outside the fluid. There is an Oil filled section for mechanical seal cooling and bottom bearing lubrication, enabling the pump to dry run reducing unnecessary pump starting and stopping.

Horizontal monobloc:

The pumps are mounted with standard flanged motors, according to IEC Standards, with removable and interchangeable stub-shaft, with compact construction. The mechanical seal can be oil cooled if dry running is a requirement.

Horizontal base plate:

The Pump and motor have a flexible coupling and are mounted on a base plate. This pump is suitable for heavy duty applications and high motor powers. If required they can be manufactured with an oil cooled mechanical seal enabling dry run protection.

Applications:

• Fish pond drainage, pumping sea water with fish in fishing vessels or in rivers where fish are present and do not want to be harmed

• Black water, sewage, water with solids in suspension such as sand and other solid waste.
